Business
On the Piste
It’s the time of year when you either want to batten down the hatches and remain indoors or you’re looking forward to your annual skiing trip. No matter whether you hate the snow or can’t wait to go tearing up and down wintry slopes you need to wear the right clothing. All too often people think that one or two thick layers of clothing will keep the heat in, when in truth a number of light layers works much better. Things like
silk gloves and silk underwear are great because silk has insulating properties that keep the heat moving around your body.
Be Prepared
If you are planning a skiing trip you need to make the right preparations if you want your trip to go smoothly. When it comes to packing the right kind of clothes for a skiing trip light layers are best, your feet need to be well shod and warm. Hats and gloves are essential items of clothing when you are trying to keep out the cold. Human beings lose a lot of heat through their extremities, when you head, hands and feet are warm the rest of you tend to feel warm.
Keep a running list of things that you need to buy and do then you can tick them off as you go. When you are planning a skiing trip it’s wise to take some tinned food with you, if you get snowed in and supplies run low you need to have something to fall back on. Providing you start your organisation early and tick everything off as you get through it you should be well prepared for your skiing trip. Make sure that you set your central heating to come on for a couple of hours at night while you are away if you don’t want to return to frozen pipes and a flood.
First Timers
When you go skiing for the first time make sure that you join all the tutorial groups you can, so that you learn how to deal with the slopes. Don’t go out on the slopes alone, especially when you are a beginner, getting lost is easy and it’s not unknown for beginners to freeze to death out there. Take a sleeping bag with you as these are warmer than the traditional quilt and chalets do tend to get a bit draughty.
Older People
If you are leaving older people at home when you go away make sure that they have several layers of clothing and that they keep their heads covered even when in the house. Make sure that there is plenty of food in the larder and the freezer so that they don’t have to go out if the weather is really bad
Everyone needs to take greater care in cold weather. Wearing the right amount of clothes whether you are at home or abroad is essential if you want to keep warm during the winter months. Older people and children are at greater risk from the cold than the rest of us so make sure that they are well set up for winter.
‘Tis the Season – Fairs and Festival Trends for 2011
For crafters and vendors who make their living offering their artwork at craft shows, fairs and festivals, there is much to be learned about trends and expectations each year in order to make the most of each event. By keeping aware of what is expected to be popular, both in handmade items and sales methods, you can make sure that your artwork has a step up over the competition.
You will need to consider the upcoming trends for craft fairs, shows and festivals and you will need to learn how you can use those trends to make your events more successful than they ever have been before. You may find that some of these trends will work well for your own artwork. If you choose, you can take advantage of knowing what will be popular this year and tailor your artwork and sales habits to meet. Here are some of the 2011 trends that you will need to know and know how to use in your favor.
How the Economy Affects You
It is certainly true that the downturn in the United States economy has definitely had a negative effect on all types of businesses, including artists who sell as vendors at fairs and festivals. However, there is definitely a good outlook for an upswing in the economy and in sales in this coming year. 2011 has promise. However, if you do not take advantage of this promising outlook, you will still find your sales lagging.
No matter what, the economy is always a factor. Denying this will only lead to disappointment for you down the road. We all know that the economy has slowed immensely over the past couple of years. However, analysts and economic professionals have indicated that it is now moving toward an upswing. This means that in 2011, people are expected to be more comfortable spending their money. For craft shows, fairs and festivals, this means more patrons over all.
‘Tis the Season
You first thought that it may be nothing new to sell seasonal items at fairs and festivals. It is true that seasonal items have had their place, but it seems that for 2011, the trends are definitely pointing toward an emphasis on holidays and specific events.
If the types of items that you create can be seasonal in nature, then, by all means, make that work for you. Consider the season in which you will be attending the craft show. What holidays are within a month or two of the event? If you take this into consideration and then create artwork accordingly, you can take advantage of this heavy emphasis on seasonal this year.
If your artwork cannot be altered for the seasons or the holidays, then there are still ways to take advantage of this trend. Consider billing your work for the holiday or time or the year. In other words, if you create handmade jewelry, and the craft show you are a vendor at is in the fall, then it is the right time to create displays that emphasize that your jewelry would make an excellent Christmas gift. You can display your artwork, no matter what it is, to appeal to the need for seasonal items.
The Scrapbooking Boom
It seems that, for the past few years, two handcrafted items that have taken charge of the market are jewelry and scrapbooking. Many trends for 2011 indicate that handmade jewelry, while still popular, may have peaked last year. This is not true of scrapbooking.
In fact, with the creation of new and interesting items that go along with scrapbooking, like cards, explosion boxes, and purses, there will be no waning in the craft for the coming year.
Digital Age, Digital Art
Of course, any form of digital artwork is continuing to do well at craft shows, fairs and festivals. Many people who sell their photography at these events are turning to digital methods of altering, enhancing, and printing their images in order to make a picture stand out as fine art portraiture.
The digital method can be used in many different ways though. Digitally printed art can be used as a part of handmade jewelry, purses, handbags, and even clothing. In 2011, there will be a trend toward more and more creative uses of digital artwork in many different craft forms.
Selling in a Branded Society
One change in trends is not what type of items are popular, but instead is how buyers shop. Buyers now, consciously or subconsciously, look for branding. In modern times, buyers and customers are much more likely to gravitate to a branded company than they will an independent seller. This does not mean that your products need to be in all the major department stores. After all, you are still an artist selling your work at craft shows and fairs. What it does mean is that you need to create a brand for yourself so that customers will recognize your booth and keep coming back with repeat business.
You can create a brand for yourself in a few ways. First of all, you need a logo and a look and feel for all of your signs and promotional materials. You should keep this look throughout all materials so that it becomes recognizable as yours. You also need to consistently display your work in the same manner so that customers will recognize your booth right away.
This is a branded society, and in order for you to keep up in 2011, you are going to need to start creating your own brand.
Sales Approaches that Work Now
Sales approaches have changed for 2011 as well. There was a time when vendors and artists could display their work on tables and shelves and then just sit back and allow customers to come to them. However, this laid back attitude will not get you far in today’s world.
You have to find a balance between a proactive sales approach and being too pushy. Customers have no patience with pushy vendors; however, with the sea of competition, you must get your name out there through branding and through taking active steps like setting up email mailing lists or distributing flyers. Just waiting on customers to come to you will no longer work. You have to actively participate in selling your work.
2011 has many promises for the artist. As the economy begins to swing upward, this will affect the number of potential customers available. However, any good artists or vendor must understand the trends that are coming into play and then adapt their methods in order to work with those trends. Hope that all of you have a positive and successful 2011 at fairs and festivals.

Three Advantageous Things To Do With Worn Out T-Shirts In Your Closets
If you think your aged t-shirts inside your closet are no longer fit for wearing, don’t throw them out because your aged company logo t-shirts and promotional t-shirts will come along way if you do these three things on them. It sounds interesting, right? Just read this piece and you will be enlightened. Here are some tips on how to recycle them and contribute to the welfare of you, the environment and others.
Sell- This is the simplest approach to get away from the worn out t-shirts that you consider a clutter. Sell them for profit in your garage or more generally known as garage sale. People might get interested in your old clothes. Just make sure that these t-shirts and other clothes are still in fine condition. In addition, if some of them are truly unfit to be worn by anyone, sell them to some organizations that do recycling. Instead of burning them down or throwing them on garbage, maybe this promotional t-shirts and clothes can be morphed into helpful rugs.
Reuse- Reusing your own clothes is a good idea. But it will be better if you will reuse it with a twist. Pattern it to the latest trend in fashion. Read magazines on fashion and clothing so you will get some ideas on how you can perk up the old garments. You can do some cutting, painting and engraving. If printing is concern, you can look for some t-shirt stores that offer such service. Ready you design on a PDF and let the good guys from that outlet do the printing for you. Who says old garments deserves the trash bin? Talk about cheap custom t-shirts with a kick. Now, people will glimpse at your custom printed t-shirt as if it is new.
Donate- Donating is an act of someone with a good heart. If you will keep in mind the disaster that stunned the people of Haiti and the world, it was such a crushing pictures how these Haitians lost their homes and their belongings. People from such country were flooded with help from financial down to the basic necessity like a custom t-shirt.
As a citizen who can’t give donation in cash, old clothes and other major necessity can be a donation in kind. As long as it is from the heart, people will warmly appreciate your effort. Indeed, doing any of these three options may be beneficial to you, your neighbor, other people and the environment.

Wearing Trendy Clothes Can Lead to Doing Trendy Business
Contrary to popular belief, having to wear a suit and tie to the office every day does not always prove to make the big deals happen. If you look at the major trends of today, business owners are becoming younger. The focus is no longer how long you have been in business, but rather if you are in business and are you comfortable being who you are.
With demographics changing, so are wardrobes and how we view what a professional is supposed to look like. I recently read a statistic that mentioned that when the average salesperson wore a suit while making a presentation, closings were an average of 43% higher than those who would wear a sleeved shirt with a tie, but those who wore slacks and a polo were 60% higher than those who wore just a sleeved shirt and tie. What does this say? This tells me that the days of the power suit are going away and that it was not the suits or the polo shirt that closed the deals, but rather how the person presenting presented themselves along with their idea.
The focus of the young professional is on their presentation and the idea that can sell rather than the label on the sleeve, as well as them feeling confident in who they are and how they present themselves. I recently had a series of meetings with a client and upon the first meeting I did in fact wear a suit and tie. When I arrived, the business owner was dressed in a nice shirt and jeans. Needless to say the next meeting I was in jeans as well. The client was more interested in his business, and not my finely pressed suit and nice smelling cologne.
Now, I am most definitely not saying that you do not bathe daily and utilize deodorant, but rather that a first impression will be a lasting one. If I wear a suit that is to flashy and all my client or prospective customer remembers is my suit and nothing I presented, I obviously missed the mark for why I was there in the first place. My emphasis must be on how I present myself along with why I am there in the first place
The young professional desires to make an impact. They desire to be themselves, as well as make a great impression and close the deal. The question most professionals have today, can this be done? I firmly believe that it can.
Recently on the television show The Celebrity Apprentice, Stephen Baldwin was in the board room in jeans, a nice shirt, with a blazer (he did in fact have tie, but he was still in jeans). Earlier in the broadcast he made mention to the fact that he was the only Project Manager on the show with two wins. While others were in their power suits, Baldwin was focused on looking professional and seeing the victory through. Pint in case, the suit is not what made the wins happen, but rather the person.
I believe that there is a new surge in the marketplace. I love what the Master Motivator himself, Zig Ziglar, says, “…people buy from people they like…” So enter the day of the square toed shoes, trendy shirts and nice jeans. Bankers beware, there is a new type of business professional rising, they are strong, confident, and poised, they look great, and, they are not wearing the power suits. Stay strong. Stay confident. Be comfortable.

Is Dealing in Women’s Clothing More Prolific Than Men’s Clothing?
Clothing wholesale business is known for its lucrative returns due to great demand of clothing in the market. Clothing is among the basic necessities of life and its demand in the market can never end. This is the reason due to which many wholesalers prefer to deal in this type of business. When any wholesaler decides to open and operate any wholesale clothing business, he has to choose a specific niche for himself. The three niches available for the wholesalers to choose from include:
1. Women’s clothing
2. Men’s clothing
3. Kids’ clothing
It’s true that all of these three niches bring massive profits for the clothing wholesalers. But if we compare them we will come to know that women’s clothing is more prolific as compared to men and kids’ clothing. Let’s discuss the reasons why it is so.
First of all, women’s clothing is more money spinning niche because women are more inclined towards using a variety of costumes and accessories. The love of the women with their dresses is great so their frequency of buying as compared to men is high. Often there is a trend among the women that if a particular dress is worn by them on a special occasion like wedding, engagement ceremonies and birthday parties, they don’t like to wear it again. They like to stock up their shelves with multitude of frocks, wholesale t-shirts, trousers, gowns etc… in various colors and designs to look beautiful and more appealing. Also, if women have money to spend their first priority is buying clothing for themselves. But on the other hand, if men have money to spend, their priorities are different. They like to spend more on the tools, electronics and other items of such kind. This craze of the women to wear new clothing everyday can be seen in the clothing market easily.
Secondly, unlike wholesale t-shirts business, women’s clothing business heavily depends on the fashion industry. An abrupt change in the fashion can cause wholesale business to suffer if it is not vigilant and active on the latest trends and styles of clothing. But on the other hand, these abrupt changes also derive the demand of clothing up in the market. If we look at the changing trends we can easily see that the trends of women clothing change more abruptly as compared to men. These changes keep clothing wholesalers busy in producing new styles and designs and earn huge revenues for them. This is one of the reasons why women’s clothing is more prolific than men’s clothing.
Though women’s clothing business is more prolific as compared to men due to its high marketability yet it also requires proper skill, experience and hard work to build its momentum towards earning more profits.

Logos for Fashion and Clothing
If you are thinking of having a logo designed for your fashion and clothing business, you need to keep several important things in mind that might help you. First of all, you should be very clear about the kind of fashion clothing you are offering; it can be either high end fashion clothing like designer wear or budget clothing like jeans and t-shorts. Secondly you should be very focused on your theme i.e. the idea on which you are selling clothes; it has to be individual for every fashion and clothing line. Also, you should be very clear about the market you are targeting; the best logo is only designed if your designer knows about the age group or the class of people you are selling your product to.
Once you have these aspects worked out in your mind, it becomes easy to depict the kind of logo you want to have for your clothing business. The logo should be done in such a way that it accurately represents the clothing company and outlines the type of clothing being offered and appeals to people who will come to buy them.
Fashion and clothing logos are a very profitable way to bring more and more customers to your products and that too again and again if you prove your worth. A unique clothing line or a boutique needs a good and descriptive logo to make new clients and lasting reputation in the market. Some of the most popular logos for fashion clothing are Nike, Polo, and Ralph Lauren that are very well know among people who don’t even buy their products.
There are a variety of ways to make your fashion and clothing logo a unique and distinctive brand name for your business. For this you need to consult a logo designer who knows the market standards as well as realizes the way consumers’ minds work. To attract more people to buy your clothing, you need to design your logo in such a way that appeals to masses and they want to buy your designs.
Some important questions to consider when going for a fashion logo are:
What do you prefer, an image logo or a text logo
Do you have any preference for colors or design?
The style of the logo i.e. the way it should be done to promote your business
Some signature or distinctive mark that should be same as on your logo and clothing
It is important that you give a lot of thought to these questions and know their answers before you contact a logo designer to design an exclusive logo for your clothing business. Keeping in mind the fast changing trends of the fashion world, you need to have a logo that suits your line of clothing all-time. In other cases only a symbol or a sign is enough to make a logo popular that speaks volumes for the quality products e.g. Nike.
Fashion and clothing logos are mostly bright colored and bold that give strong vibes to people inviting them to come to you. In some cases, logos are done in a single color while in others; multitudes of colors are used to represent the various forms of clothing and accessories being marketed.
As your logo would be used for promotional purposes on banners, brochures, cards as well as clothes, it should be designed keeping in mind these aspects and it should look good wherever it is placed. However, the first stop in designing your fashion and clothing logo is that you should be well aware of what you want and how it would be used. This way you would be making the most of your logo and get maximum profits in your business.

2010 Fall Fashion Fever – Best Trends For Women Leaders
Professional businesswomen aspiring to step up their images and make their personal brands shine under the leadership spotlight need to understand which fashion trends are appropriate for the business environment – and how to incorporate them into ensembles that convey professional expertise. Do that and your image will help you become a recognized celebrity within your particular profession or industry.
I never advise my top-level clients to invest in fads for their working wardrobes, but instead I recommend classic-modern styles that are simultaneously contemporary and timeless. But as a senior level retail executive and your professional image and brand strategist, I’ve done all the research for you! Using my latest trend report you can easily navigate your way through the department store to select your fall wardrobe while saving both time and money. I’ll show you how to invest in what works for your personal brand to keep you looking unique, innovative, and contemporary. This season is all about timeless pieces, structured sophisticated silhouettes, and exquisite fabrics and shape accessories that give your nine-to-five look a memorable signature that spells success and charisma.
I reveal a dozen top new trends that communicate professionalism for every woman leader and high achiever. No matter what type of work environment you find yourself in – from formal to business casual or even ultra casual – you can capture the essence of these trends and incorporate that style into your business wardrobe to look outstanding as you enhance your personal brand and professional reputation.
Fashion Trends to Celebrate Your Personal Brand
It’s important to realize that a contemporary wardrobe is like a uniform or an actor’s costume. What you wear and how you wear it is definitely an extension of your professional brand and every day your wardrobe broadcasts messages to others over the business airwaves. Your clothes speak to your level of inner confidence, express your unique style, and symbolize your expertise and character. One of the most common complaints I hear from clients before they work with me is that they look like everyone else in the same suit or cookie cutter outfit. But I know that they simply lack the knowledge of how to leverage fashion trends – not fads – to make them unique and memorable so they will stand out from competitors in a dynamic and positive way. Your head to toe look tells the story of your brand through a visual narrative. So it’s important that the story you are telling is one that others will read as an engaging and convincing “Celebrity with Credibility” news flash.
Fall into Neutral Colors with Grey and Camel
This season no professional can go wrong wearing shades of rich heather grey or camel in their business suits, jackets, skirts, pants, dress coats, and accessories. Look to incorporate these two tones with a suede pump, a quilted Chanel bag, or in monochromatic tones to communicate you’re a classic-elegant woman. I love the streamlined silhouette look that is accomplished by dressing in monochromatic tones of either grey or camel from head to toe. Wear the same basic tones in a wool coat, sweater, trousers, belt, and shoes or boots for those business casual days. But be sure to add some rich texture to this look – otherwise it can appear boring. A suede belt or shoes would easily do the trick. You can also look to mix and match these two tones of camel and grey together. With a charcoal grey suit, for instance, opt for a camel and grey print silk blouse that adds some feminine interest to your power suit.
Who Wears the Pants Now?
This season, it’s all about the pant suit and you will see many styles resembling the menswear silhouettes from yesteryear. But it takes a real lady to enhance the look with a few strategically powerful feminine details. Do that and you will dramatically modernize your look from head to head – and you’ll be ready to compete successfully while going toe-to-toe with male counterparts in any business setting. A great feminine blouse or shoes is one simple but effective way to add ladylike style and grace to the design profile of the traditional men’s uniform – the power suit.
The Statement Jacket – Your Quintessential Go-To Item
Every professional woman knows that when she wants to gracefully glide up the corporate ladder or attract more elite clientele, a few statement jackets will empower her work wardrobe. This season the statement jacket is about sophisticated, structured silhouettes made out of exquisite fabrics with a hint of texture like brocade, tweed, boiled wool, tropical wool, or cotton. Anchor your wardrobe with modern styles like collarless, asymmetrical zip, peplum, 2-button, ruffle trim, or shawl collar styles. Every woman leader needs to exude trustworthiness, strength, and confidence – and statement jackets that you can coordinate with various professional skirts and pants to multiply your ensemble possibilities are the answer this fall.
Beautiful Feminine Details
You will see beautifully refined dressy blouses and shirts in fabrics like crepe, satin, sateen, silk georgette, metallic, and silk charmeuse this fall. So you can have the best of both worlds by powerfully showing your softer side. The fashion focus is on showing off the fine details of this season’s blouses, high up on the neckline. Those include professional wear styles that have, for instance, a draped cowl neckline, a subtle neck chain detail, ruffles on collars and down through the torso, pin tucking details, small neck ties, and pleated round necklines.
The “It Dress” Refined for Fall
One great advantage that women leaders have that our male colleagues don’t is the flexibility to wear easy options like a great dress. This season the “It dress” styles are sheath dresses with either a split neck or a knot tie at the shoulder; dresses with any type of neckline details; solid dark neutral knit dresses; wrap style jersey knit dresses in an array of colorful prints; trench shirt dresses; Pointe knits with princess seams; belted sheath dresses, or simple styles with peplum details. All of the modern styles will be ladylike and nipped in at the waist, giving just the hint of a waistline. Shop for luxurious fabrics and unexpected prints – because when you only wear one item it needs to combine fine quality, texture, and detail to make it a stand-alone look you can wear to work.
The New Trousers
Pants this season will be sleek, long, and lean – with a menswear-inspired look in straight or pencil leg styles. That kind of design lets everything else on your upper torso do the talking and instantly helps to balance out your proportions. Once again you can’t go wrong with colors like camel or grey to round out your wardrobe. There isn’t a woman’s body type on this earth that doesn’t look fabulous in straight cut pants! I always advise my clients that if they ever find a pair of pants that fits their body type they should purchase them in numerous neutral colors to easily look polished in every business casual environment. With the new menswear styles be sure to wear a high heel because that will contribute a more feminine feel to those otherwise rather masculine fabrics and cuts.
Fuller Skirt Silhouettes
Look for skirts this season in luxurious fabrics and modern silhouettes. It’s the return of old world glamour – similar to the secretary styles you see on the hit TV show Mad Men. Those fuller skirts from the 1950s are new again. The pencil skirt has an updated style too, and the flared hemline will make every leg shapelier and add some sway to your walk. Now I call that making a silently classy but memorable entrance!
Wrap Yourself in Sophistication
Give a warm welcome to the new statement outerwear. Coats for fall come in animal prints, brocade designs, suede, faux fur, and classic wool styles. The silhouettes will be stronger, with bolder shoulders and slimmer silhouettes to give you a refined sense of sophistication and elegance. If you work in a more business casual environment, you may want to try out one of the new cape coats that offer stylish fluidity when you wear them with a great straight cut trouser pant. It’s the counterpoint to a streamlined silhouette, so remember that you need to wear that wide cape over a slimmer lower torso in order to keep your proportions balanced.
Animal Feline Style
Animal prints have become a classic print, and they are one way to jazz up your classic wardrobe items. Add a touch of an animal print in a handbag, shoe, silk blouse, scarf, or trench coat. These can be small statement pieces that add some interest but you will want to keep these to a minimum. Otherwise you can call too much attention to yourself with a clothing statement that has so much of the animal element in it that it becomes a little difficult to tame.
Ladylike Handbags
This year the handbag is back. It has a more structured look with architectural details and silhouettes and there is a perfect style for every lady. The bags of the season are: the drawstring bag – which is a throwback to the 1970s that resembles the long-handled bucket bag; the clutch style with sharp edges – to take you from day to night without missing a beat; and the smartly structured handbag – like, for example, the classic square bag with a large signature clasp (worn with a strap over the shoulder messenger style). That was a favorite of Jackie Onassis. In tote bags you’ll see an array of multi-handled carry-alls in alluring snakeskin. They come in tones that range from tomato red to warm cognac. Or you can opt for the color of the season by purchasing a grey suede tote bag that keeps you looking professional and also does double duty as the ideal travel bag.
Don’t Just Talk the Talk but Walk the Walk Walk the classic route that speaks volumes about your style by wearing the new pointy-toe heels or bold and colorful peep-toe pumps. Then downshift into my favorite – the kitten heel. This fall shoes will be in colorful tones, and that offers you a great way to quickly add a pop of color to your basic suit. If you are wearing a pantsuit and work in a more casual environment, then consider a suede shoe bootie to add some heel height, texture, and interest to your long, lean look. This season it will be a breeze to add variety to all your casual looks with the wide selection of boot styles that are coming to stores for fall.
Accessory Magic
One of the wisest investments this season is pearls – either layered or worn alone. You’ll continue to see statement necklaces in multiple strands this season but be cautious. You don’t want your necklace to upstage your presence, so try to keep it simple and elegant. A textured cuff is also a great way to add some jewelry and intrigue to your solid work dress.
Follow these trend tips and fall fashion guidelines and you can save time and money shopping this season while also adding some noticeable innovation and unique style to your core wardrobe. Knowing what to buy – and how to incorporate it into your overall image and branding strategy – is not just fun but it can also pay huge dividends on your clothing investment, both personally and professionally. You’ll feel better, look wonderful, and will always stand out above your peers and competitors in a way that invites greater success.

Why Clothing Wholesalers Need to Learn More About Women Clothing Trends
Wholesale business world is full of adventures and it always offers new ventures for the wholesalers. One of the most stable extensions in wholesale business is wholesale clothing business. Among all the possible reasons the biggest one is that clothing demand always keeps on increasing. It is because in this era people do not wear clothes just for skin protection but in order to be fashionable. These both pointers make wholesale clothing business profitable and most popular one. The most profitable niche within clothing wholesale business is women clothing.
A beginner (wholesaler) may consider it an easy job but it does not mean that he will not have to face all the challenges and so he can overlook the considerations. It is quite a tough job to satisfy your customers if they are purchasing women clothing items from you because they always look for varied styles, materials, colors and designs in latest and trendy clothes. For this purpose wholesalers need to have an urge for learning new things about women clothing to keep pace ahead of recent usual trends. Above all it is vital for clothing wholesalers to understand the latest trends especially that are in.
Trendy clothes are contemporary clothing items but they are not constant in designs and styles. There was a time when women had fascination of collecting piles of clothes but now they are well aware of what is in, what suits them and from where they can get. Keep in mind that if your wholesale clothing business is not displaying what people are looking for at a given time, then it will be quite hard to generate sales and revenue. Thanks to the cyber and media worlds as they are our competent learning sources and can teach wholesalers the few things that can keep them updated about the latest designs.
You must know that mostly women take their clothing inspiration from the famous celebrities. They regularly follow the juiciest gossip magazines that spy on the celebrities’ day to day life and their personal styles. Even if you are not a big fan of such magazines, you can pick any such copy (as a business compulsion) and skim over it. You will surely find several styles of casual day-to-day clothing items that an average woman is looking for her daily routine.
Take a walk on an evening to your closest shopping mall and see what kinds of items are displayed in the windows of trendy shops. These shops can give you novel ideas of what you can display to sell in your wholesale clothing store. It is profitable because several women can not buy from branded stores but they can buy the same style clothes from you at lower prices.
You can check out the websites of other clothing wholesalers, what they are delivering to their customers. Few wholesalers do research and display what is in and latest so it is made easier for their customers to choose from the index. Therefore, it is important to keep your eyes open for the new trends and do not sell ahead what you don’t want to buy.

Urban Wear Trends Mean Retail Profits
The urban wear market is picking up steam, as its appeal spreads beyond the confines of the urban market.
Spreading due to the popularity of rap music, rap inspired video games, and films featuring rap artists, the urban wear market has been steadily rising.
Many retailers have been trying to increase their sales by tapping into this lucrative market.
While the urban wear market does present many compelling opportunities to make money, retailers need to be aware of the fickle nature of the market.
For instance, brands gain and lose their popularity in relation to the level of popularity of the rap performers that market the brand.
In other words, for a retailer to carefully decide which urban brands to stock, he needs to keep track of the popularity of the musicians who wear and promote the clothing.
By reading hip hop magazines, and following media reports, retailers can gage which urban brands are experiencing demand, and which are experiencing a diminishing level of popularity.
For example, when 50 Cent, a well known rap artist, appeared in a major film his clothing line experienced a strong level of demand.
On the flip side, FUBU saw a strong drop in demand for its clothing line due to the lack of a popular rap musician promoting its clothing line.
Other brands such as Ecko have been more aggressive in developing lines inspired by well known rappers, as they did with 50 Cent.
But all of this can be meaningless to a retailer unless he knows which rappers are considered to be in the spotlight.
The best way to conduct this research is through an ongoing online search using news sources and rap related forums.
